Women Today listen again: Throwing down and throwing out

On Women Today this afternoon we found out about The Great Manx Build up and Throw Down 2019.  Anna Clucas and Faye Christian came in to tell us what would be happening and we were joined on the phone by Richard J Parker who has been a finalist on the BBC programme which inspired this event.

After last year's success, professional ceramicists Anna and Faye are getting ready for another fun filled 3 days of clay throwing and building.  The girls will welcome a class of beginners, improvers and enthusiasts and take them step by step into the building, throwing and shaping of clay.  There will also be more fun, challenges and lots of laughter. Three days of clay will run from the 11th May at the Isle of Man Arts Society in Douglas.

The workshops are already fully subscribed, but the ceramics community on the Isle of Man is a really welcoming one and if you would like to get in touch and fine out more you can visit the Manx Potters Facebook page.

In the final week of Women Today before the exciting launch of our new show next Monday, we are taking a look back at some of the highlights of the past four years.  This afternoon we went  back to December 2015 when we first talked about the issue of abortion on the Island.

And what's the oldest make-up item you own?  Can you beat one listener who has some eye shadow dating back to 1971?

Listen back to the show in full here for the next seven days.
