Women Today listen again: Liam Reynolds

A special programme for #WorldMentalHealthDay. Each year has a theme and for 2018 it’s psychological first aid and the support people can provide to others in distress...

That in mind, we were joined in the studio by Liam Reynolds who leads #RunTogether group sessions in Peel. You can find Liam on Facebook here - he's happy for anyone to join in the sessions and, if running isn't your thing, will point you in the direction of other groups or activities that might help.

We also looked at what provisions are available for young people on Island - as the focus of this year's WMHD was on young people with mental health issues - and Alex Wotton spoke to 16 yr old Cameron and 18 yr old Jamie, both users of the CAMHS service and also to Dr Derek Proudlove, who was very open about the challenges the Island's Mental Health Service is having to meet the needs of all those who are struggling. find out more about the Island's mental health services here or, if you're struggling and need immediate help, the Samaritans are wonderful and are on the end of the phone 24/7, just call 116123.
