At Your Service

Saturday, 13 February 2021 - 30 minutes

Good morning - and happy Valentine’s Day!

Louise Whitelegg is the Island’s Christian Aid representative  - she’s also a Methodist Local Preacher, and deeply committed to caring for our planet - which is why she’s  calling us to a greener way of life - and on this Valentine’s Day - when so many tokens of romantic love will be exchanged - Louise is asking us to ‘go green’ and  show another kind of love - love for the planet - love for our world.

She’s invited friends to join her on the programme, each of them answering her question - how do YOU share a greener kind of love?
So, alongside Louise Whitelegg herself, we’ll hear from Dr Henry Uniacke, Cheryl Cousins, and Rev’d Bill Leishman.

Henry is the Environmental Officer for the Anglican Church on the Island.  A scientist respected for his commitment to renewable energy,  Henry’s current role  is to put the Island’s Anglican churches on a pathway to carbon neutrality by the end of this year.

Reverend Bill Leishman is the Minister at Broadway Baptist Church in Douglas.

Cheryl Cousins is the Local Minister for Dalby Village & St. James’ Church

David Suchet reads from the Book of Psalms, and there’s music from Graham Kendrick, Margaret Rizza, and the Taize Community in Southern France.
There’s also a requested hymn - In Heav’nly Love Abiding - the choice of Mrs Christine Marsh - in memory of her late parents.

Email me - judithley@manxradio.com   if you’d like to choose a favourite hymn, or add items to our Notice Board (information is included in At Your Service and in Sundown each Sunday evening from 9pm)
