AT YOUR SERVICE - 27 FEBRUARY 2022
At Your Service
Sunday, February 27th, 2022 - 30 minutes
Friday March 4 is WORLD PRAYER DAY - there'll be services around the Island at different times on that day, which will link the Isle of Man with praying people all over the world, using the same theme "I know the plans I have for you".
The service this year has been prepared by the Christian women of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. But, in the light of recent developments, the services will also include special prayers for Ukraine, and for the peaceful resolution of the present international crisis.
Some wording in the order of service has caused a problem for certain Christian denominations, and, as a result, they will not be joining in this year's World Day of Prayer. In conversation with Caroline Salmon, who co-ordinates the service in the North of the Island, we discover the full story.
"A tonic for the mind and balm for the soul" is how one reviewer described the brand new book by Ruth Rice - founder of Renew Wellbeing - quiet shared spaces where it's OK not to be OK. Ruth's latest book - The A-Zof Wellbeing - is jam-packed with simple, practical, helpful ways to find your personal toolkit for peace and wholeness.
The book launch - organised by Churches Bookshop - will be on Tuesday 2 March at 7.30pm in Peel Methodist Church (opposite the side gate to the Cathedral, and the Centenary Centre) It's free and there's no need to book - Ruth Rice will be there, talking about Renew Wellbeing and signing copies of her book (which will also be on sale at a special launch night discounted price)
There'll be other books and gifts from the Churches Bookshop range, on sale, and there'll be a Renew Wellbeing space set up at the back of the church, for anyone who would like to know more about what's involved in running or visiting a Renew Wellbeing cafe-style space.
