Commissioner candidate wants to help people 'as much as possible' if elected
Manx Newscast
Monday, 5 October 2026 - 6 minutes
A candidate in the upcoming Marown Commissioners by-election says she would try and help residents 'as much as possible' if elected.
Amanda Collister hopes to be able to work with neighbouring authorities and would support improvements to children's play areas and leisure areas.
The by-election is taking place on Thursday 8 October, and residents will be able to vote from 8am until 8pm at the Crosby Methodist Church Hall.
There is one available seat following the resignation of John Lovelady last month - the other candidate is Oksana Hargreaves.
Mrs Collister believes her experience on the board of Marown School Association would help her in the role of commissioner.
Local Democracy Reporter Emma Draper has been speaking to her.
