More Information (Manx Radio is not responsible for external websites)

This year's annual joint IOM Victorian Soc/MNH lecture tells the story of a brilliant portrait artist, married to the famous Manx sculptor Joseph Swynnerton. Several of his works were displayed in the Bay Room Restaurant in the Manx Museum. Annie was the first woman to become an Associate of the Royal Academy and today her paintings are to be found in major galleries around the world. Rebecca Milner, Curator at Manchester City's Art Gallery is being brought to the Island to share Annie's life story with us as part of a well illustrated talk. The presentation takes place in the Manx Museum Lecture Theatre on 22nd November at 2.30pm (doors open at 2pm). Admission is FREE
