In this talk, Dr Rachel Crellin, co-director of the Round Mounds of the Isle of Man project, will guide the audience through the four years of excavations at Berk Farm. She will talk about the Round Mounds of the Isle of Man project from its conception, to its work on historic collections in the museums, and the geophysical surveys of mounds across the island that led to the Berk Farm dig. Over the course of 14 weeks of excavation a team of volunteers and students revealed 13 burials at the site and found a rare (and beautiful!) jet spacer plate necklace changing our understanding of Bronze Age burial practices on the island.
