Did you know stories about Viking communities throughout the centuries tell of many seasonal events similar to those we know now, including Jul or Yule. The old Nordic tradition of winter solstice celebrated the return of the sun to the Nordic lands. When the sun reached its lowest point in the sky, this was a sign daylight and warmth would soon be returning.

The House of Manannan is open daily 9.30am – 4.30pm, closing Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Please note all children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Trails £2. Admission: FREE for Children, Annual Pass and Members . Adults £12.00 (until 31 December 2022). £13.00 from 1 January 2023. Students over 18 with a valid Student Card half price.
