Former air bridge carrier hit hard by Covid restrictions
Guernsey's national airline has racked up massive losses of over £50 million and is continuing to hemorrhage around £50,000 a day while Covid restrictions remain in place.
The figures for Aurigny have been revealed by the Channel Island's policy and resources treasury lead - there are fears the losses could escalate to around £70 million by the end of this year.
Owning its own airline has been mooted as a possible solution to the Isle of Man's problems in securing reliable air links on key services.
But Brian Kelly, chairman of the Online Regional Travel Group, believes supporters of such a plan should be careful what they wish for:
