CI stock exchange opens Manx office

Listing facility for company fundraising

Island businesses seeking investment funds have access to a listing facility for international companies, which has a presence here for the first time.

The International Stock Exchange (TISE), whose parent firm is headquartered and licensed in Guernsey and has an office in Jersey, was launched at Noa Bakehouse in Douglas recently (9 March).

More than 120 members of the local business community attended the event, where the Exchange was welcomed in a keynote speech by Treasury Minister Alf Cannan.

TISE is described as offering 'a convenient and cost-effective' listing service for a range of securities, including companies, investment vehicles and specialist debt.

Chairman of the International Stock Exchange group Jon Moulton said: "there are Isle of Man trading companies across a diverse range of industries who may need to access capital to support their growth plans.

In additional there are significant opportunities for Manx professional firms to capitalise on the arrival of TISE."

Mr Cannan said TISE would not only create direct employment opportunities and support the fundraising needs of local firms, but could also generate jobs and revenue in the local economy.

Island-based Carolyn Gelling will head the Isle of Man operation.
