Staff to receive pay rise and double discount
The Manx Co-op has thanked its workers for their hard work and commitment during the coronavirus pandemic.
Since the outbreak of coronavirus, the food store has suspended all other non-essential activity such as conversion works - using the money for providing customer safety and rewarding its staff.
All frontline colleagues will be receiving an annual above inflation pay rise – 2 weeks earlier, as well as a double staff discount on Friday and Saturday for their Easter shopping.
Temporary workers will also receive a pay rise, and an extra sum of circa 12% of their contracted hours once they have finished.
Protective screens, gloves, sanitiser and masks have been ordered to help combat the pandemic.
In a post on social media – Area Manager Andy Corrie says “we are doing our utmost to protect their safety at work.”
You can find out more information about staff rewards on the Manx Co-op Facebook page.
