MTG acquires IT specialist Omnitec
Island-based technology services firm Manx Technology Group (MTG) has bought IT services provider and hardware reseller Omnitec, as part of a strategy to offer customers 'end to end technology solutions'.
MTG says the acquisition will enhance its capability in the financial services, e-Gaming, manufacturing and healthcare sectors.
Group CEO Joe Hughes said the expansion reflects a shift in the way businesses procure IT services.
He said: "those organisations who have genuine expertise in systems, networks, software and emerging technologies such as data analytics, IoT and AI, are no longer seen as just IT providers but complete technology partners'.
MTG is also in talks with technology providers in the UK, Jersey and Ireland with an eye to expansion from an 'ideal' base in the Isle of Man, into new jurisdictions.
Managing Director of Omnitec Chris Glover said the firm had a shared vision with MTG, and the tie-in would allow staff to develop their skills.
