
HSBC splashed out on a party to support Manxman Mark Cavendish in the Olympic cycling road race on Saturday.
The bank invited more than 80 clients and customers to watch the event on a huge screen at Bar George in Douglas, which was decked out with flags and banners wishing the Manx missile good luck.
Although Cav started as favourite for a gold medal, the chance for a podium place slipped away when the GB team failed to rein in a late breakway.
Head of Retail and Wealth Management at HSBC on the Island Ian Bush said despite the disappointing result Saturday's race the day after the opening ceremony, offered a superb opportunity to entertain customers:
