Hotel scoops top industry accolade again
The Claremont in Douglas has scooped a prestigious travel industry award for the fourth year in a row.
It's been named the Isle of Man's Leading Hotel 2017 by the World Travel Association, whose annual awards were presented in St Petersburg last weekend (30 Sept).
A gala ceremony in the marble hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography was attended by representatives of the travel industry from around Europe.
The awards are voted for by travel and tourism professionals, as well as business and leisure visitors.
Earlier this year, the Claremont unveiled its latest generation of executive business suites, following a £750,000 investment in the Loch Promenade hotel.
The upgrade is part of a rolling programme of improvements due to continue into 2018.
The Claremont's Managing Director Mark Wilson has paid tribute to staff for helping secure the honour, with their welcoming service to guests.
