
Manchester Airport has been named as the UK's Best Regional Airport in the
Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards 2008.
The airport, which handles more than 22 million passengers a year, received the award at a prestigious ceremony at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Tuesday night.
Manchester Airport's managing director Andrew Cornish and group marketing director Kate Harrison accepted the award on behalf of the airport, which was praised by the judges for the handling of heightened security restrictions and for its commitment to customer service.
