The Isle of Man isn't much of a haven if you happen to be an inventor, according to new statistics.
Figures from the journal of the European Patent Office show the Island was the second least-successful place in Britain for patent applications in 2011.
According to the statistics, only 41 applications were made from the Isle of Man, which was more than the 27 from the Channel Islands, but behind every other region.
By comparison, the United Kingdom contributed well over 7,000 patent applications in 2010.
