Manx Telecom now has 20,000 broadband customers in the Isle of Man, which means about 60% of households are linked up.
The company says its twelve exchanges have had broadband service for many years and that fact, coupled with an ongoing program of installing remote equipment across the Island, means households in remoter parts are able to receive broadband. Manx Telecom says that 'just isn't happening' in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The 20,000th customers, Mr and Mrs Killey of Ramsey (pictured), were rewarded by Manx Telecom with a year's worth of free broadband.
