A financial services veteran from the Isle of Man is speaking along side Virgin boss Richard Branson at a conference in the British Virgin Islands today (Wednesday).
Andrew Burns is director of the BVI's Financial Services Institute, which offers training and education for the local industry.
Mr Burns was born and raised in Ramsey and worked in the finance industry in the Isle of Man for more than 20 years.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Admistrators, and was company secretary for HSBC and Barclay's Wealth on the Island.
Today's conference will look at prospects for 2012 in the British Virgin Islands' main sectors, financial services, real estate and construction.
Chairman of the Virgin Group Sir Richard Branson will give the opening address, before speakers including Andrew Burns give presentations.
