
A hotel on Douglas promenade is to close for three months from Friday.
A 'clear decline in visitor numbers' has prompted the decision to shut the Chesterhouse, part of the Sleepwell Group, during the non-tourist season.
It will re-open around Easter and then trade until the end of October.
A number of redundancies are forecast, although managing director of the group Mark Wilson says attempts are being made to find jobs for some of those affected in other areas of the group’s business.
The Amber Bar and Restaurant will remain open and bookings won't be affected.
