18-year-old Commissioner wins over youth

Newly-elected Laxey member hopeful for generation

Giving a voice to young people inspired them to use their votes.

So says an 18-year-old who broke records in last night's local authority elections (Thu).

Liam Miller topped the polls in Laxey, winning 85% of the votes and shooting ahead of several long-standing board members.

He'll join Peter Kinnish and Julie Pinson on the newly-formed Garff authority.
