Stopped by police twice in two days
A Douglas man has been fined £200 after being caught twice in two days not displaying his number plate correctly.
Daniel Mark White, of Close Kennish, was stopped by police at Ramsey Hairpin on 24 August during Manx Grand Prix.
Officers had noted the 28-year-old’s Nissan 350X was not displaying a front plate – they’d stopped him, and issued him with a fixed penalty notice, for the same offence two days earlier.
White admitted the offence at Douglas Courthouse with the court hearing that he’d told officers he didn’t want to display the plate on his bumper because it could damage it.
Addressing the offence White’s advocate told the court it was ‘essentially his own vanity’ that had got him in trouble adding: “It’s a car that he’s very proud of.”
White was also ordered to pay £50 in prosecution costs.
