Manx Care reveals breakdown of costs after FoI request

Manx Care has revealed it spends more than £300,000 on providing additional medical resources over the TT period.

It’s produced a breakdown of its costs – which are paid for out of the normal operating budget – as part of a Freedom of Information response.

This includes £117,196 on providing extra Emergency Department and ambulance staff and £18,646 on additional radiology resource.

Almost £60,000 is expected to be spent on air ambulance transfers, based on 2022 activity, and £48,000 goes towards the Great North Air Ambulance.

Just over £20,000 is spent on additional orthopaedic cover, £26,499 on tertiary charges from NHS hospitals and £5,378 on ordering additional blood products.
