£50,000 boost for play project which helps children deprived of positive experiences

Isle of Play says referrals have increased

Children who have been deprived of play and positive early childhood experiences can benefit from a new project pioneered by Isle of Play.

'Play Paths' supports young people with a wide range of behavioural and developmental issues.

The scheme is delivered outdoors - at either the Woodland Forest School site or Lester’s Yard Adventure Playground facility.

Chief executive Chris Gregory says children are playing less and less in our society:

The Manx Lottery Trust has provided £50,000 for the project.

Chairman Stephen Turner said: "We were pleased to award Isle of Play funding from last year’s Thematic Fund, ‘Together for better’.

"This exciting new project will be a wonderful asset to the local community and will certainly make a long-lasting impact on the young people involved."
