Applications invited for new Chief Fire Officer

Successful candidate to be paid more than £100K

The hunt is on for a new Chief Fire Officer for the Island.

The successful applicant will take over responsibility for seven fire stations and a total of 163 employees - of which around 110 are retained firefighters.

The £112,000 a year post has been made vacant following the recent retirement of Kevin Groom.

Mark Christian has been in charge on an interim basis since Mr Groom's departure.

The closing date for applications to the Department of Home Affairs is the 5th of April.
