Samantha Barks is being tipped by a leading US film blog as one of the "10 Potential Breakout Actors Of The Fall Film Season".
The 21-year-old from Laxey plays a significant role in the upcoming film version of Les Miserables.
indiewire.com's 'The Playlist' says Sam's part as Eponine is " a dramatic one, and she gets one of the show's best-known numbers, "On My Own," so she's likely to make a serious impression."
It's a role she's already played in the West End version of the musical.
The blog adds, "If she's able to land parts away from the musical world, this could be the creation of a massive new star."
