Crews from two stations tackle flames
A blaze in a derelict building prompted fire crews to be called out last night (12 Oct).
It started in the barn of an unoccupied farmhouse near Ballacriy Park in Colby at around 7pm, causing extensive damage.
Crews from Castletown and Port Erin were called to the disused building about an hour later by which time it was already well alight.
Police say they’re investigating the cause and want to speak to anyone who may have seen people in or around the farmhouse or barn earlier yesterday evening.
They say the people responsible would have been left smelling strongly of smoke.
