Founder credits retailer with keeping company afloat during pandemic

Businesses on the Isle of Man are continuing to react to the news that Shoprite has sold its nine stores to Tesco.

A number of firms have described Shoprite as an invaluable 'stepping stone' many Island businesses have relied on whilst finding their feet.

Bushy's founder Martin Brunnschweiler called into Manx Radio's Mannin Line programme to express his regret at seeing the brand call it a day.

He said he is grateful for the years of support for his company from the Manx retailer:

Elsewhere, Tynwald is set to discuss the recent sale of Shoprite to Tesco next week.
