By-election triggered for Douglas Council seat

Voters to head to the polls in June

The polls will open in June for the people of Douglas to elect their newest councillor.

It's to fill a vacancy in the St George's ward region of the town.

Closing date for nominations is on 4 May with residents casting their votes four weeks later in a by-election on Thursday, 1 June.

Douglas Borough Council is made up of 18 elected members, three serving each of the town's six wards.
