Garff MHK cites a changing remit as the reason for stepping down
Daphne Caine has resigned from her role as Children's Champion.
The Garff MHK says she's made the decision due to the remit of the job changing, focusing on just looked after and vulnerable children only.
Mrs Caine - who was in the post for 18 months - claims most of the young people who came to her for support fell outside the new criteria.
She says she'll now continue to pursue issues dealing with those youngsters, such as improved mental health provision for children.
