A co-ordinator for Isle of Man Friends of the Earth says a 'lynch mob approach' to the dredging of Peel harbour is not helpful.
The Department of Infrastructure has faced criticism for depositing potentially contaminated silt near Poortown Quarry.
Work began on Monday and local residents were angered after some of the waste was spilt on the roads.
