Chief minister quizzed on 'ethics and morals' of company's approach

Allowing the Steam Packet to operate at arm’s length is ‘vital’ – providing it’s operating within the law.

The chief minister has told Tynwald there is no reason at this stage to interfere in operations of the business amid an ongoing dispute with a trade union.

Eleven questions had been tabled for today’s sitting.

Alfred Cannan was quizzed by politicians about the involvement of the Council of Ministers in negotiations and claims of ‘fire and rehire’.
