The chief constable is now the last remaining policeman from the 80s still in service on the Island.

Gary Roberts recently tweeted to congratulate PC Steve Tate on his retirement after thirty years in the service.

Finishing off by saying Mr Tate has 'left me marooned as the last 1980's cop.'

Chief constable Roberts has served solely in the Island force since joining in 1984 and has served as a member of the Command Team since 2002.
