Chief Minister claims change to nurture groups won't hit the vulnerable

The chief minister is stressing changes to nurture groups in the Island's schools are nothing to do with budget rebalancing.

It's been announced that nine Island schools - six primary and three secondary - which use a qualified teacher in the groups, along with one education support officer, would cease doing so for the start of the 2013/14 academic year.

The groups will instead be run by two education support officers, as in the other schools, with the department looking to redeploy the teachers affected.

Chief Minister Allan Bell says the changes are not hitting the vulnerable:
