Climate change march held in Douglas

'The Time Is Now', say protestors, as they gather outside Tynwald

Around 100 people have taken to the streets of Douglas in recognition of the climate emergency and marched on Tynwald.

'The Time Is Now' march mirrored one in London, which has ended up at Westminster.

Following Tynwald's official acknowledgement of the issue last week, locally the campaign is calling for fossil fuels to be kept in the ground, more ethical investment and fare-free public transport.

Garff MHK Daphne Caine was on the march, and brought the original motion to Tynwald.

She says she's not surpised by the momentum which has gathered in such a short space of time:
