Computer records under spotlight as trial of Attorney General continues

Computer records will be the focus of much of the proceedings when the trial of the Island’s Attorney General resumes this morning (Thurs).

It’s day five of evidence in the case of 52 year-old Stephen Harding.

He denies charges of perjury and committing an act against public justice, relating to the winding-up of former Island business Street Heritage.

Yesterday, the court heard from advocate Jerry Carter who had previously represented the company owners - the Irving family.

He said they were in an increasingly desperate financial position and didn’t have much confidence in their ability to raise the £182,000 they needed to pay a tax bill.
