Move may not save millions predicted
Douglas Council may reconsider proposals to convert all its homes from oil to gas after Manx Gas announced changes to its bills.
In future, people will may much more in standing charges while the company says it’ll drop the price of the fuel itself.
David Ashford presented a motion to the council earlier this year suggesting the changeover would save the local authority millions it could then spend on maintenance.
Now, however, he says he’s not so sure:
