But officials assure fixes are underway
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed that the new seawall on Douglas Promenade must meet all required standards before receiving final approval.
This assurance follows concerns raised after Manx Radio shared a photograph showing visible cracks in the newly built structure.
A spokesperson from the department told us it's aware of the issue, through their quality assurance checks, and is actively working with the contractor to fix the cracks and prevent similar problems in future panels.
The seawall, which replaces the old railings along a 500-metre section of the promenade, comes with a price tag of around £900,000.
