Decreased numbers at some campsites this TT

Financial climate, and cost of travel, blamed by some operators

The number of TT visitors choosing to camp during their visit to the Isle of Man appears to have dwindled this year.

Thousands of people – from across the globe – are attracted to the Island’s biggest motorsport event.

But where do they all stay?

Peter Quayle runs Glenlough Campsite – he says he’s seen a 'steady stream' of people for TT 2023:

Anne - the site manager at Douglas Rugby Club – told Manx Radio their numbers have been 'good':

He believes high travel costs to travel to the Island could be a reason why numbers are dwindling:

Francesca Thompson is the warden of the Peel Campsite - she says they too have seen a decrease in the amount of people using their facilities:

Manx Radio invited the Steam Packet Company to respond to their concerns.

Meanwhile, the company responsible for Homestay accommodation on the Isle of Man says it’s seen a five per cent increase in the number of properties registered this year.

Nigel Jones is from MiQuando and says there's already demand from visitors looking to book for next year:
