DfE is not 'rudderless' despite senior vacancies says MHK

Minister, CEO and deputy CEO posts vacant

The department for enterprise has not been left 'completely rudderless' - despite not having a permanent minister, chief executive or deputy chief executive at the helm.

That's the view of a political member of the DfE who admits she's 'in the dark' about when a new leadership team will be appointed.

The former enterprise minister, Dr Alex Allinson, has been moved to head up treasury following the resignation of David Ashford.

Chief executive Mark Lewin has been moved to the cabinet office and the deputy chief executive Carl Hawker has announced he's departing.
