Tilly the springer spaniel was swept away from Garwick Beach
A dog which was swept away to sea yesterday afternoon has been found safe and well.
Coastguard and lifeboat teams were called out to Garwick Beach after the black and white spaniel, called Tilly, was washed out from shore.
Neither were able to locate it despite numerous sweeps of the coast between the beach and Laxey harbour – the search was then called off due to lack of light.
However there was good news this morning when members of the public found Tilly safe and well on the beach.
The dog’s owner took to social media to thank the couple who had found her pet saying: ‘Thank you so much I don’t think we can say that enough’.
