ManxSPCA says most Manx dog owners don't cause problems for others
Dog owners are being urged to remember their responsibilities ahead of the lambing season.
The ManxSPCA is calling for those with dogs to be aware of the law after receiving a number of complaints about canines not being properly controlled by their owners.
Ahead of the start of the lambing season, the charity has taken to social media to remind owners of the ways they can be in breach of the Dogs Act.
They include dogs not being kept under proper control, causing a nuisance or annoyance to inhabitants of the neighbourhood and worrying livestock.
The ManxSPCA warns dog owners may also face a complaint to a court of summary jurisdiction if their dog causes alarm or annoyance to any person in a highway or other public place, or if their dog is considered dangerous.
The organisation says it knows most dog owners on the Island are responsible and ensure their pets don't cause problems.
But, it says a few extra seconds of though can save a lot of problems.
