Driver fined £270 for speeding on Richmond Hill

Motorist clocked doing 52mph through 30 zone

Speeding along a busy main road has cost a Douglas man £270.

Thirty-eight-year-old Stylinos Patsiatzis of Spectrum Apartments in Douglas admitted the offence via the coroner at Douglas Courthouse.

Prosecutor Roger Kane told magistrates police with speed cameras were on duty just before 10am on February 23 on Richmond Hill.

They clocked Parasitism’s Toyota Corolla doing 52mph through the 30 limit.

Fining him £220 and ordering him to pay £50 prosecution costs, magistrates said there was no excuse for ignoring the many signs warning people about the speed limit.

They also put five penalty points put on his licence.
