Alarm bells after 2nd southern accident

Both as a result of icy road conditions

Police are warning motorists to take extra care after a second road traffic accident in the south due to today's frost.

It took place between the Ballamodha and St Marks. There are no reported injuries but people are being told to avoid the area - which is described as 'very icy'.

This morning, there was an accident in Port St Mary - again, no one was hurt.

Temperatures of freezing and below have been recorded, and officers say there treacherous conditions as a result - especially in the south of the Island.

Officers also ask that drivers be mindful around housing estates.
