Dr Kirsten Wafer discusses 'positive developments' during that time
A founder member of the Island's Drug and Alcohol team is retiring after 23 years service.
Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Kirsten Wafer, has been instrumental in growing the unit from a team of three to its current staff of over twenty.
During her distinguished career Dr Wafer has seen the service develop with the addition of specialist clinicians, nurses and a doctor.
The growth in population has increased the team's workload, but Dr Wafer says a gradual erosion of the stigma attached with seeking help is a positive development:
Construction costs on the Island 18% above UK average and comparable with Outer London
Wind farm debate to continue before committee
Call for compensation scheme for workers who become ill after contact with asbestos
Third candidate to stand for election in Douglas South
