Education minister aims for new pool at CRHS despite proposals for KWC

'It would be wrong not to plan ahead' says Cregeen

The education minister says he'll continue to plan for a new swimming pool at Castle Rushen High School, despite proposals for a similar facility at King William's College.

A private group has applied for approval in principle to build a commercial sports centre at the public school, including a four-lane, 50-metre pool.

On Wednesday (13 Nov) those behind the project will appear at a public meeting, due to be held at Castletown Civc Centre from 7pm.

Graham Cregeen says his department will 'push on' with a replacement southern pool as part of the new Castle Rushen High School development.

According to the minister, it would be wrong not to plan ahead, in case the proposals for King William's don't progress.
