Ayre and Michael candidate sampling life in Zimbabwe
An unsuccessful candidate in September's election says a 'carpe diem' attitude led her to escape the Island to southern Africa.
Louise Whitelegg, who stood in Ayre & Michael, has spent the past few weeks roaming Zimbabwe with fellow Manxman Damien Peter.
She's met the recipients of aid grants from the International Development Committee, and worked alongside Christian Aid.
Ms Whitelegg says it was borne from a desire to sample a completley different way of life.
Speaking live from Harare, she admitted it's been something of a culture shock.
