Electronic red flag system to be tested tomorrow

Motorists don't need to take action

Testing will be carried out tomorrow (19 August) on the electronic red flag system ahead of the Manx Grand Prix.

Motorists are being warned they do not need to take any action if they see the signs light up between 7am and 8am.

The electronic flags were introduced to the TT Mountain Course this year to run alongside the existing flag system used by marshals.

It allows the clerk of the course to raise awareness that all racing should immediately stop.

Gary Thompson said: “As always I am acutely aware of any disruption that may be faced by the public and again thank everyone for their understanding whilst we continue preparations for the start of the Manx Grand Prix.

“The digital red flag system was a huge success and added a significant safety measure to the TT Mountain Course but it is important the system is re-tested before the start of the MGP.”
