The number of government workers being made redundant, and the money being spent on it, has generally been increasing every year for the last six years.
The figures were revealed in a Tynwald question for written answer from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft, who asked Treasury Minister Eddie Teare about the matter.
To date this financial year, 38 government staff have been made redundant, costing just over £2 million.
Almost £700,000 of that was spent on seven people who were earning more than £60,000 per year.
The previous year, it was 21 people at a cost of £1.35 million, six of which were earning more than £60,000.
The payoffs for those six came to over £900,000.
The money spent that year, 2013/14, was more than double the previous high, in 2011/12.
In 2009/10 just two staff went, at a cost of just £1,700.
