Fewer grants and support payments made by DEFA
The amount of financial support provided by government to the fishing and agriculture sectors has fallen by more than £800,000 over the last five years.
Almost £33m in support payments and grants have been provided to the two industries since the 2014-15 financial year.
However, a Tynwald written answer shows the figure has dropped from £6.99m then to £6.15m in the 2018-19 period.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture budgets £42,000 per year for fisheries grants, but less than £40,000 has been claimed over the last four years - just over 23% of the total funds available.
