Speaker will read out statement in the House of Keys
Members of the House of Keys will hear the first Commonwealth Day message from King Charles at the start of the sitting this morning.
Commonwealth Day is on 13 March, marking the start of a week-long series of activities around the world – including faith and civic gatherings, debates, school assemblies, flag-raising ceremonies and cultural events.
It's the first one since the death of the Queen in September last year.
The theme this year is 'forging a sustainable and peaceful common future’, focusing on the commitment of member states to support the promotion of peace, prosperity and sustainability, especially through climate action, to secure a better future for young people and improve the lives of all Commonwealth citizens.
